Easy Corner To Corner Crochet Blanket

Learn a Modern & Easy C2C Stitch
If you’ve ever wanted to try a corner-to-corner crochet (C2C) stitch, this is a great place to start. I designed the Aura Baby Blanket pattern to be worked diagonally from one corner to the opposite corner with pretty diagonal stripes. It has just enough texture to feel like classic crochet, with a clean look that also works beautifully for modern styles.
Since corner-to-corner blankets are worked on the bias (aka diagonally), the width and length grow with each row, which makes it really easy to customize the size. So you can follow my pattern exactly to make a baby blanket, or keep increasing until you have a throw -or even something bigger!
This design uses half double crochet stitches worked between stitches instead of into the tops of the stitches to create a soft, but thick fabric that is just perfect for warm blankets. The woven texture also looks super cool when you use different yarn colours to add stripes.
Choosing Yarn for Your C2C Blanket
For the Aura Baby Blanket pattern, I used Premier Anti Pilling Everyday Worsted Weight Yarn in four colours. My main colour used about four skeins, and the three accent colours used roughly 2/3 of a skein each.
I also want to mention that this is a great stash-buster project and works beautifully for stripes or colour blocking.
