Knit Bandana Pattern

Knit A Head Scarf That’s Cute and Practical!
Sometimes I just want to work on a smaller knitting project that I can make, wear, and enjoy right away. And I’m guessing that I’m not the only one, which is why I designed this cute knit bandana pattern to share with you all! It’s a fun and quick project that doesn’t take a lot of yarn or time, but still gives you something pretty (and also super useful for bad hair days!) when you’re finished.
This triangle-shaped bandana scarf is knit flat in rows, starting with just three stitches and gradually increasing by two stitches on every odd-numbered row to create the shape. It’s small enough to take with you on the go, and because it uses sport weight yarn, it’s still a comfortable project to knit outdoors during the warmer months.
I added a tiny bit of lace along the edges to make the stockinette stitch background a little more interesting. Don’t let that scare you though -it’s just a small detail, but it really does make the finished bandana look next level.

And because you start with only a few stitches, if you make a mistake at the beginning, it’s not the end of the world. You’ll gain confidence with the pattern as your scarf grows.
You can wear this knit bandana in your hair, tied around your neck, or even tucked into your bag as a cute handmade accessory. It’s a great project for using up any extra skein’s of yarn that you have lying around too! Once you make one, don’t be surprised if you find yourself wanting to cast on another in a different colour! I’ve already made a few for myself and my daughter to wear on hot summer days when it’s just too much work to try to tame our curls!
