Fingerless Gloves Knitting Pattern

The pattern that I’m sharing with you this month is for the an item that I always have on hand! I have been knitting at my kids’ hockey practices for years now and as you may have guessed, Canadian hockey rinks are basically extremely large freezers! Over time I have realized that fingerless gloves are the key to keeping my hands warm while still allowing me to knit efficiently.

I’m guessing that you’ve found yourself in a similar position too, which is why I decided to design a new pattern for fingerless mittens/gloves to share with you. Fingerless gloves are the best accessory to have in your bag. They keep your hands warm, while leaving your fingers free for knitting, checking your phone, typing on your laptop, turning pages in a book, or whatever else you may need them for. They also make a thoughtful gift that almost anyone will appreciate!

If you have not yet knit a pair of mittens or gloves, then I recommend starting with my Easy Knit Mittens Pattern, which guides you through the process of knitting a very simple pair of mittens using worsted weight yarn (with lots of pictures) before attempting this pattern. If you are an experienced knitter, then I know you will love how simple this pattern is. To get started, you will need some fingering weight yarn (I used Knit Picks Capretta fingering weight yarn), a cable needle, stitch markers, and a pair of circular needles (for the magic loop method). You can even use double pointed needles as an alternative if that is your preferred method for knitting in the round.
