Comfy Fingerless Gloves/Mittens Knitting Pattern

Fingerless Gloves/mittens Knitting Pattern

Knit a Pair of Luxurious Fingerless Mittens / Gloves – Free Pattern

The pattern I’m sharing today is something I always keep with me. Like, always. I’ve spent years knitting during my kids’ hockey practices.  And since Canadian hockey rinks are basically giant walk-in freezers, I’ve figured out that fingerless gloves are essential to keep my hands warm and still be able to knit without feeling like I’m wearing oven mitts.

I’m guessing you’ve been in that same boat—cold, trying to be productive, fingers freezing—so, naturally, I thought, “Why not design a pattern for fingerless mittens/gloves?” These things are seriously the best. They keep your hands toasty while leaving your fingers free to knit, scroll through Instagram, type out emails, flip through a book, whatever you need. Plus, they make the perfect gift—everyone loves them!

If you have not yet knit a pair of mittens or gloves, then I recommend starting with my Easy Knit Mittens Pattern, which guides you through the process of knitting a very simple pair of mittens using worsted weight yarn (with lots of pictures) before attempting this pattern. If you are an experienced knitter, then I know you will love how simple this pattern is. To get started, you will need some fingering weight yarn (I used Knit Picks Capretta fingering weight yarn), a cable needle, stitch markers, and a pair of circular needles (for the magic loop method). You can even use double pointed needles as an alternative if that is your preferred method for knitting in the round.

Pay it Forward!

I hope you enjoy this pattern! If so, please feel free to share the link to this page on your social media or Pinterest account.

I truly appreciate all of you who get the word out about this site and my patterns!
