The Bobble Stitch Blanket Crochet Pattern
For my blanket crocheters, I’ve got a special pattern to kick off the new year – a super cozy, chunky bobble stitch crochet blanket. Designed for the hustle of our busy lives, this is a super quick crochet pattern that won’t take forever to finish as it’s crocheted with bulky yarn. I have designed this pattern to be the ultimate rewarding project to start your year on a creative high note!
Design Inspiration
I knew I had to create a bobble stitch crochet blanket pattern when I shared my knitted bobble stitch blanket and received many messages saying, “Hey, make this in crochet.” So, I did. I created this throw to be the perfect project to practice the bobble stitch and keep your couch looking effortlessly stylish at the same time. The herringbone half double stitches provide a soft, textured backdrop, while the bobbles create a classic diamond rhombus grid that matches any kind of room aesthetic.
How to Crochet the Bobble Stitch
If you have never crocheted a bobble stitch, don’t worry. Bobbles are basically like adding a pop of popcorn to your work – but without the butter. Imagine you’re drawing with yarn, and every so often you want to make a dot that really stands out – that’s your bobble. You basically keep looping the yarn through the same stitch, building it up until it’s got a nice, plump texture that says, ‘Hey, look at me!’ Then you secure it, and it just sits there like a little yarn bubble, giving your project some serious personality. It’s like 3D art for crocheted blankets or sweaters.
