Crochet Bobble Stitch Pillow Covers Pattern

Crochet Bobble Stitch Pillow Covers Pattern

I really hope you guys aren’t getting sick of my bobble patterns, because I honestly cannot get enough of the bobble stitch! I love, love, love how I can use it to create textures, while also adding design elements that would otherwise have to be done with colour work! If you haven’t had a chance, check out my Rhombus Throw Blanket Pattern, which uses bobbles to create a diamond lattice design on a background of herringbone half double crochet. This time, I decided to make a crochet bobble stitch pillow covers pattern to share with you guys. My daughter recently bought some new bedding for her birthday, and I wanted to surprise her with a couple of cute throw pillows to add to it. I’m so happy with how they turned out, and she loved them too (thank goodness!).

Yarn Choice & Inspiration

These pillows are super easy to make and work up fast thanks to the yarn that I chose: Knit Picks (We Crochet) Swish Bulky Weight Yarn in White. Bulky/Chunky yarn is great for home decor projects because builds up fast, and is also hugely in style right now. We love to look at show homes as a family activity to get design ideas and inspiration for our own decor. Lately I’ve been seeing so many gorgeous chunky pillows and throws adorning the sofas and beds of the homes that I always leave feeling excited to create patterns from the styles that I’m inspired by.

I chose Swish Bulky because not only is it bulky, but its also very, very soft to the touch – and therefore perfect to snuggle up with in bed. This yarn is seriously luxurious and well worth the cost, but if you’re on a budget, I also love their Wool of the Andes Bulky and Brava Bulky, which are great substitutes.

These pillow covers are worked as two identical panels from the bottom up and then seamed together.

  • When reading the pattern, note that the odd numbered rows are the right side, and the even numbered rows are the wrong side.
  • To simplify that pattern, I’ve abbreviated the instructions as follows:
    • SC = work one single crochet into the next stitch.
    • BS = work one bobble stitch into the next stitch.
    • 32SC = work one SC into each of the next 32 stitches.
