Its finally Fall, and I am so excited for another season of sharing cozy knitting patterns to keep you warm all winter long! I thought I’d start off the season with this adorable quick to knit winter hat. Of course its perfect for fall too -especially up here in Canada where it gets chilly very quickly!
I used exactly one hank of Knit Picks Biggo Yarn to make this hat. This yarn is the squishiest, softest bulky yarn I have yet to find. And its also made of nylon, which makes it durable too! Its a dream to knit with – I just know you will love it!
This is now my favourite hat. Hockey season has started for us (I have two kids and one hubby who play), and I’m pumped to wear this cozy baby to the next practice. I know it’ll keep me warm when they decide not to turn the heat lamps on!
I have written out and posted the free pattern for this hat below on this page. You can also purchase the ad free instant download PDF file for easy printing and reading for $5 USD .

I just made this hat and it’s awesome, it came out too long so I just folded it and it fits perfect, I love it, thank you.
I suggest line 13 should read. “. Repeat last 4. Stitches “. I am a new knitter and it took me a few checks of my stitches to realize what was going on.
Great pattern! It was too big for me so I reduced the number of stitches to 36 and its perfect. Knit up in less than four hours and is super thick and warm. Could easily be adjusted to fit a child or baby. Thanks for sharing the pattern!
Anxious to get started!
What a lovely hat! Thank you very much for sharing your pattern. Looking forward to getting started!
You’re welcome Sandy! Enjoy!
Why the dbl. Pointer needles? The pattern doesn’t mention them at all.
Hi Kathleen, You will need to switch to double pointed needles when you are decreasing at some point since there won’t be enough stitches for the circular needles to work.
