Colourful Crochet Blanket Pattern

The Colourful Bobblelicious Crochet Blanket

I’m all about the clean, modern home look that’s trending these days. However, I also love to mix it up by tossing in some colourful crochet blankets and textured throw pillows to keep it interesting. After all, life is a painting, and we are the artists!

This pattern is designed to inject some of that fun and vibrancy into your space. It’s a combination of colourful stripes and bobbly texture, making it not just a cozy addition to your home but also a fantastic gift idea for someone special.

The Bobblelicious Throw Blanket is perfect for all skill levels, whether you’re new to crochet or have been crocheting for years – I think you’ll love it. Also, I designed this colourful crochet blanket pattern with customizability in mind, allowing you to choose your favourite colour combinations and adjust the width.

Choosing the Right Yarn for your Crochet Blanket:

This pattern requires three unique colours on a solid background. I recommend white as a background colour to make the three additional colours pop – but its totally up to you!

And since yarn can get expensive, I recommend an acrylic budget friendly choice. My top two favourite acrylic yarns based on quality, price, and colour selection are the Knit Picks Brava Worsted line and Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran from Love Crafts.

The Beginner Friendly Slanted Bobble Stitch

This blanket is crocheted entirely with the Slanted Bobble Stitch, which is simply a tilted variation of the classic bobble stitch. But please don’t worry if this stitch sounds tricky… I’ve got you! I created a detailed YouTube tutorial to walk you through the Slanted Bobble Stitch step by step. It’s easier than you think, and builds up quickly too -making it perfect for adding colourful stripes to your crochet designs.

The tutorial video can be found on the Leelee Knits Youtube Chanel, or right here on this page, alongside the pattern below. I can’t wait to see the stunning blankets you all will create!

  1. I love this blanket and was going to make a baby size. Would you recommend the starting chain be smaller than 125 or would that number still work?

    Thank you
