Bobble Stitch Knit Blanke

Knit a Bobble Stitch Blanket

I had so much fun making my last pattern for the diamond grid Knit Bobble Stitch Blanket, that I decided to continue working with bobbles. This time, I’ve created this cozy blanket with a twist—it features a zig-zag chevron design that adds a fun and stylish touch to any space.

If you’re looking for a new knit blanket project, you will love this pattern! It’s a great way to add a personal touch to your home decor or make a thoughtful handmade gift for someone special.

If you already know how to knit and purl, then all you have to learn is how to make a bobble stitch, which is super easy! I made a very quick YouTube video on how to knit a bobble stitch that you can watch before you get started. I know that once you watch the video you’ll have enough confidence to practice your bobble stitches with this pattern.

Choosing your Yarn

Last month, I was feeling adventurous and I decided to try out a new yarn line from Knit Picks: Twill Worsted Weight Yarn. I really loved the look of the Rose Water Heather colour, so I ordered a bunch of skeins with the intention of making a blanket. I honestly didn’t know that to expect since I like to stick with my favourites, but I was so happy that I will definitely be ordering more Twill. It is a great yarn for blankets because of the bouncy drape it creates when knitted up in stockinette stitch. It’s also machine washable which is a huge bonus for anything that may need to go through the wash. I can’t wait to try out some of the other colours in this line too, and I’m sure I’ll be featuring it again in my patterns!

You can of course use a different yarn, if you don’t have access to Knit Picks yarns or just want to use up your stash. I recommend going with a yarn that is the same weight (worsted weight). Just make sure you check your gauge to get the same size and drape.
