Create a Stunning Knit Cable Stitch Scarf – Free Pattern
T’is the season to be freezin up here in Canada, which is why I thought it would be fitting to share a simple cable knit scarf pattern with you all today! With Valentine’s day just around the corner, I chose to work with a cozy pink yarn to match the holiday- Hobbii Fluffy Day in Pastel Pink!
The Flow Scarf is exactly what you need for those crisp, chilly days—it’s long, incredibly soft, and has the perfect drape thanks to its loose-knit design. It’s one of those scarves that not only looks amazing but feels even better when you wear it. Plus, I think you’ll find it an absolute joy to knit up!
If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you may have noticed that I am a huge fan of adding cable stitches into my designs. I love knitting with cables because they are a simple way to add texture and elegance to pretty much any knit piece you can name. And with so many ways to combine cabled stitches, there is an endless amount of designs choices when working with them.
What are Cables?
For those new to cable knitting, this is simply a technique of crossing or twisting stitches over each other with the help of a stitch holder every few rows. I’ve posted a few videos on my Instagram (@leelee_knits) showing cables in action, so feel free to follow along and check out my reels to see just how simple it can be!
I’ve also created a YouTube video to guide you through the basics of knitting cables. Watch it below and start mastering this fun technique!
